Traveler Review: Delta Sky Club; Austin TX

Delta Sky Club Austin

Designed for the modern, busy traveler, Delta Airlines newest Sky Club boasts 9,000 square feet of unique expression, indicative of Austin.

Delta Airlines newest Sky Club is conveniently located near Delta’s gates within the Barbara Jordan Terminal of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. The Austin Sky Club has numerous amenities and features, most notably a covered outdoor patio, appropriately named the Sky Deck.

This is one of the roomier Sky Club’s with a focus on elegant design, comfort, and functionality. Each seat has access to high-speed wi-fi and power outlets. The only seats where I didn’t see power outlets were at the bar. The full-service bar contains everything you would expect from a Delta Sky Club and more. This particular club has a wide array of tequila choices as well as beer brewed in Texas such as High Sign Voilet Blueberry Blonde and Thirsty Planet’s Thirsty Goat.

The food was equally as impressive, ranging from “Tex Mex” fare to vegetarian choices such as Quinoa. Each Delta Sky Club also has at least one Thermoplan Espresso machine capable of brewing Latte’s, Americano’s, Mocha’s, Cappuccino’s, and more. It’s literally like having your own Starbucks Barista for the on the go traveler.

Pros:

  • friendly staff
  • not crowded
  • unique food and beverage choices
  • ambiance
  • comfort
  • spacious restroom
  • covered outdoor patio

Cons:

  • no shower

In general, this is one of the coziest and relaxing Sky Club locations I have ever been to. It’s also one of the most unique with its mezzanine level glass infrastructure and multiple lounging areas.

In my personal opinion, the best and easiest way to experience Delta’s Sky Clubs anywhere in the world is via the American Express Platinum card. While it does have a $450 annual fee, there is also a $200 travel credit good for baggage fees and other travel-related expenses plus Delta Sky Club access worldwide.
